Aiko Bianca Coloso
National Team
Date of birth:
12/27/2001
Hometown:
Seminole, Florida
Biography:
Aiko has been shooting bunker since 2018. Prior to that, she was a successful taekwondo competitor, having won multiple national titles and earning a spot on the AAU National Team. Her interest in shooting began after trying the Bass Pro Shop shooting games. Coming from a family with no history of firearm use—especially in hunting or sport—her interest in shooting was completely self-driven.
When Aiko asked her father about pursuing competitive shooting, he initially refused. Undeterred, she secretly earned her hunting safety license through a school program. Once she revealed her certification to her parents, they began looking for a local rifle team. Unable to find one near their home in Seminole, she joined a shotgun team instead. Aiko competed for a year with the Hawks Sporting Clays Team at Sarasota Skeet and Trap, which served as her introduction to the shotgun discipline.
She now shoots with Tampa Bay Clays while balancing a rigorous academic and military schedule. Aiko is currently an Air Force ROTC cadet at the University of South Florida’s Detachment 158 and is finishing her Bachelor of Applied Science in Cybersecurity at St. Petersburg College. Upon graduation, she will be commissioned as a 2LT in the United States Air Force.
Shooting has positively influenced every aspect of Aiko’s academic and professional journey. She intends to continue competing even after graduation as she begins her military career.
